An Annie Leibovitz Exhibit With Shots of Niagara Falls, Not Demi Moore
Famed photographer Annie Leibovitz has a new book out with photos of scenery rather than celebrities. I haven’t seen the book, but an article in The Atlantic says that the cover of the book has Niagara Falls on it.
Stopping in front the book’s cover image—a breathtaking vision of Niagara Falls—she explained that this was the picture that led to all the rest. She took in the view on a trip with her children, and watched them stare out at the water, mesmerized. “I stood behind them, they were actually in front of me, and I took this picture. It’s a photograph that anyone can take. It’s an American snapshot,” she said. “Actually, we were in Canada. A Canadian snapshot.”

Convention Centre progress
If you follow the comments, you noticed that regular visitor StEC left a comment with a link to some pictures he took from the top of the Hilton. There are many that are nice, but the one that stood out to me was the picture of the Convention Centre. It is a nice looking building, and certainly looks like it will be finished on time.

Nice photos of Niagara Falls in Autumn 2010
Yesterday I walked along the Niagara Parkway next to the Falls and in Queen Victoria Park. I took a bunch of pictures. It was overcast, so the sky doesn’t look great, but the colours of the leaves look good. I should have probably taken these a couple of weeks ago to get some more leaves on the trees, but I just didn’t think about it. Unfortunately, in the last couple of weeks we’ve had a lot of wind, so most of the leaves are off the trees now.

What a beautiful Autumn day in Niagara Falls!

Ella and I decided to tag along on Will’s business trip to Niagara Falls for the week. A last minute mini vacation with just the three of us. Niagara Falls was just what I had expected, gorgeous waterfall surrounded by tons of amusements! Ella and I went on long walks everyday along the falls enjoying the fresh air!

Vanessa Neil, Sword Swallower, at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum
As you read on Saturday, I went to Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum to see the sword swallower. This was the second year that they did it, and I thought Vanessa Neil was better than Riley Schillaci, last year’s performer. I can’t really explain what I didn’t like about Riley, but she just didn’t seem happy to be there. Vanessa was much more chatty, smiled a lot, and seemed happy to be there with everyone.
I was going to make some observations, but I thought the article in the Niagara Falls Review that I linked to yesterday got all of the main points. Also, you can read my tweets from Saturday as well.
You can see the 30-second video I took on YouTube. I forgot to bring my better HD camera, so the quality isn’t that great, but you still get a clear shot of her downing about a foot of sword in the blink of an eye. The sword was about two feet long in total.

I also took a few pictures. I couldn’t tweet, do a video, and take pictures at the same time, so I don’t have a still picture of her with the sword in her mouth. However, you can see her holding the sword, as well as the crowd that was gathered. You can also see the renovations that they are doing at Ripley’s.
